Training and Workshops |
|||
WorkshopsWorkshops are a great way of gaining knowledge on a particular topic as well as talking to other Leaders. They are open to all who help in a Unit including leaders, young leaders and unit helpers. If you have a uniform, please wear it to the sessions. Most workshops are held at Stirling Guide Hut and start at 7.30pm promptly.Please register in advance for the workshops you wish to attend as this helps those running the session to prepare for it. Click here for details of Workshops throughout 2009-2010. |
First Response These sessions are for all Adults and Young Leaders working towards their leadership qualification. Leaders and unit helpers are also required to renew every three years. This year there are renewal courses which last for half a day (10am–1pm) or a full evening (7pm–10pm), in addition to the full First Response sessions, which are either a full day or two evenings as indicated on the programme. To apply, download the registration form here, complete it and return by post or email to Sue. You must apply at least two weeks prior as places are limited on each course. |

Guiding Development Committee This is a group of guiders, under the leadership of the Guiding Development Adviser, who produce a programme (each year), of workshops etc. Everyone involved in guiding, from Young Leaders and Rangers (who are part of Senior Section) to Leaders, pre-warrant Leaders, Unit Helpers and Trefoil Guild, has the opportunity to learn new skills, meet others and have fun. The committee consists of representatives from each Division as well as the Outdoor and Senior Section Advisers, Adviser for members with Disabilities, County Trainers and the County Commissioner. This number of people allows us to represent all sections of Guiding and at varying levels from the very important unit guiders to district and division commissioners. We NEED YOU to TELL US about the workshops you have attended (the good and bad) and workshops that you would like to see in the County so we can juggle them into a programme. How? By contacting your Division Rep OR your District or Division Commissioner OR myself as Guiding Development Adviser for the County. |
County Day Workshop 2009 This will be held at Forth Valley College on 3rd October from 9.45am - 4pm. We hope to have four Scottish Trainers to lead the sectional part of the programme. The afternoon session is Crafts. This will be run by Eliz McNeill and the Glasgow Play-scheme Association. Click here to download the programme with all the day's information. Please apply no later than 2 weeks before the Workshop dates you wish to attend. Unfortunately it's rarely possible to have more than 24 people at a session. To apply, download the registration form here, complete it and return by post or email to Sue. Details of other Workshops which have been organised for us throughout the year are available to download here.
