Who Are Rainbows?

Rainbows are girls aged between 5-7 years-old.

They are the youngest in Girlguiding UK but they have the most fun!

Every year there is a Rainbow Fun Day held in Stirling...This year the Fun Day will be held on May 9th.

Rainbows meet once a week for about an hour. They play games, sing songs, do lots of crafts, maybe have snacks and listen to stories.

Sometimes the Rainbowsgo on outings to different places. Our Rainbow Guiders look after the unit and they are great fun!

Visit the Rainbows pages on the Girlguiding Website to find out more verses and see what Rainbow Olivia has been doing...

Now there is a Rainbow Jigsaw which is a very special programme just for Rainbows.
There are four Jigsaw areas for you to explore: Rainbows Look; Rainbows Learn; Rainbows Laugh; and Rainbows Love.

Rainbows Look

This area allows Rainbows to begin to understand that they are part of a wider world.

Rainbows Learn

Rainbows learn all the time, both in guiding and in their daily lives.

Rainbows Laugh

This area of the Rainbow Jigsaw encourages games, songs, parties, celebrations, making a mess and enjoying life.

Rainbows Love

This area is at the heart of the Rainbow Jigsaw.

Rainbows promotes the ethos of the Five Essentials, in particular the Promise.

Rainbows includes activities that explore the environment and different communities.

Rainbows are encouraged to get out and about to discover the world around them.

A Rainbow learns in many ways, by doing activities at her meetings, going on interesting visits and meeting visitors at the meetings.

Being a Rainbow is fun and not at all like school.

Rainbows also has a learning strand, as each Rainbow develops important skills at the same time.

A girl is beginning to understand the concept of ‘love’ when she joins Rainbows through her experiences of caring and sharing with family and friends, and being kind to others.
