Who Are Guides? Being a Guide is all about getting together with other girls and having fun! It doesn't matter where you're from, how good you are at school or what you look like. Guides have 10 million members around the world and they want you to make ten million and one! |
What Do Guides Do? You can do lots of things, from organising a fashion show to saving the environment. Not only that, but you get to go to Camp and take part in loads of other fun activities with Guides. You may even go abroad or meet Guides from other countries at an event here in Scotland. |

What Are Patrols? Every Patrol has a leader who has been chosen by the Patrol members. Patrol Leaders (PLs) keep the Patrol running smoothly - they choose a Patrol Second to help them, but they don't decide what to do - you all do that! PLs attend a regular Patrol Leaders' Council - a meeting of PLs and adult leaders where decisions are made about the running of the unit. This is where you get you say - let you PL know what you think and she'll pass on your opinions, and give you an update afterwards. A Patrol has four to eight members. You get to choose which Patrol you join.Members can be all the same age or mixed. The Patrol elects their Patrol Leader (the PL) and then she chooses her Second. The Patrol makes decisions and plans and does activities together. |
